Purpose: The purpose of the GS8 Forum is to provide a place for members of our community to post announcements, share ideas, ask questions, have discussions. All visitors to our site are welcome to post.
Topics: Any topic may be discussed within the following limitations:
Debate vs. Flaming: This is a friendly place. Debate is fine, but flaming is not allowed. Flaming is personally attacking someone. For example, saying “Any idiot knows that isn’t true” is flaming because the person was just called an idiot, while “I passionately disagree” is not flaming even though its highly emotionally charged.
Legality: No posts should be made that are illegal in nature.
Privacy: No personal information about other people that could be considered private should be posted on the site without permission of the person whom the information is about.
Authorship & Quoting: Messages and/or parts of messages written by someone else may not be posted without permission of the original author. The exception would be if the message you are quoting has been posted in a public forum (discussion list, message board or newsgroup). In either case, the message should be posted in such a manner that it is possible to know who author is. Quotes or some other system should be used to differentiate between the quoted part and the original part of the message.
Chain letters: No chain letters, urban legends, virus warnings (real or hoax) etc. should be posted except as to be used as a topic of discussion, meaning the person posting the message must express a question about the chain letter that they want to discuss.
Deletion of Messages: The owners of the site, while embracing the concept of freedom of speech, reserve the right to delete all and any messages they wish. Periodically the board will be checked for messages which are obsolete or inappropriate for this site, and such messages will be deleted.
