Hi, I have problem… The problem is that I’m little behind in my rent. I was planing to pay what I owed in two payments but it seems that I didn’t notice that my lease expires on July 2007 and not in August 2007 as I thought. My questions is: After I pay the back rent can I still move out without lossing my voucher?

We’re working on central CA, in the meantime, email us the name of your contact or caseworker in your area of CA and we’ll try and work on this area. Thanks.

Terra, we can’t tell where you’re located via your post. Provide state and town and we might be able to help you.

    Patricia,
Check with the HUD Approved Counseling Agencies http://www.hud.gov/offices/hsg/sfh/hcc/hcs.cfm. This information is state based. Select the state, the agency in the area you’re interested in, print the information, and make your phone calls and appointments. (Once you’ve made an appointment, KEEP IT! If you are unable to make your appointment at the scheduled time, or your situation has changed, call to cancel or reschedule your appointment.) It’s important that you are organized and responsive when working with a caseworker. You want to make sure they have all the information and paperwork filled out completely. Good Luck!

Jennifer, based on your info, we can’t tell where you’re located, however if you already have a Section 8 voucher and want to port it to Paragould talk with caseworker or PHA.

If you want to move, you must contact your housing authority caseworker, ask if your are eligible to move or “port” your voucher. If you are eligible to move, you must contact the housing authority in the area you are planning to move to, and complete any paperwork required by the caseworker in that area by the date requested.

    Hope this helps -
